webmcp.fast makes a local MCP server reachable by a cloud agent. The Model Context Protocol lets an AI agent use tools, resources and prompts that a server offers. Most useful servers run locally: a filesystem server, a git server, a database bridge, a browser automation server, a memory store, a launcher for a coding agent. Cloud agents such as Claude, ChatGPT and Grok can only reach remote servers over HTTPS with OAuth. webmcp.fast is the piece in between.

What it does

You run a small daemon on your machine. It keeps one outbound connection to the gateway and offers the servers you attached. The gateway gives each of them a public, authenticated address of the form https://<handle>.webmcp.fast/<device>/<server>/mcp and relays JSON-RPC between the agent and your server. It adds no tools of its own and does not change the messages.

Why it exists

It began as a one-off bridge that let a cloud chat agent start coding agents on a Mac. Doing that safely needed a stable URL, OAuth that the big harnesses accept, per-server scoping, device keys and an audit trail. None of that was specific to one server, so it became a general service: exposure, authentication, scoping and audit solved once, for every local MCP server and every client.

What it deliberately does not do

• It never opens a port on your machine and never asks you to install a tunnel.
• It has no aggregate endpoint. One connector is one server on one device.
• It offers no raw shell and cannot start anything on your machine. Only your own webmcp attach adds a server.
• It does not store the content of relayed calls.

Who runs it

webmcp.fast is operated by Proticom, a consultancy based in Huntington Beach, CA, United States, founded by Edward Tadros. The gateway runs on Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects. The daemon that runs on your machine is open source (Apache-2.0, https://github.com/proticom/webmcp, published with the first public release), because nobody should run a closed binary that can reach their local tools.

Status

The service is new. The relay, OAuth for agents, device pairing and the dashboard are live. The one-line installer and Homebrew formula arrive with the first public daemon release, and a paid tier comes after that. Questions are welcome at support@webmcp.fast; see contact.
